Defense Minister Kihara received a courtesy call from Admiral Paparo, Commander U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

Defense Minister Kihara received a courtesy call on May 29 from Admiral Paparo, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command who is visiting Japan as his first overseas trip after his appointment. Minister Kihara expressed his congratulations on the appointment of command, and welcomed ADM Paparo’s visit to Japan.

They exchanged views on initiatives to further strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance and promote a free and open Indo-Pacific, as well as regional security environment surrounding Japan, and affirmed that they will continue to work closely together.
