On February 28, Defense Minister Kihara received a courtesy call from Dr. John Hamre, President and CEO of CSIS, who is visiting Japan. They discussed various initiatives to strengthen Japan-U.S. defense cooperation based on their previous discussion at the last meeting in Washington D.C. in October 2023, and reconfirmed the importance of the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
