On December 19, Defense Minister Kihara attended a virtual Defense Ministerial Meeting on Red Sea Maritime Security hosted by the U.S. Department of Defense.
At the conference, the participants shared information on the situation in the waters around the Arabian Peninsula, particularly the Red Sea, and their efforts.
Minister Kihara stated that the Japan Ministry of Defense and Self Defense Forces will continue to closely cooperate with relevant countries to secure stable use of sea lanes in the Middle East and ensure peace and stability in the international community.
JMOD and SDF will continue to collaborate with the U.S. and like-minded countries to ensure maritime security as well as peace and stability in the international community.
