On October 18, 2023, Vice-Minister of Defense Serizawa, visiting Seoul to attend the 12th Seoul Defense Dialogue held a meeting with Dr. Shin, Vice Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea for approx. 40 minutes.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the severe security environment in the region including North Korean missile and nuclear threats. Furthermore, they affirmed the importance of promoting Japan-ROK and Japan-ROK-U.S. cooperation based on the outcomes of Japan-ROK-U.S. Summit in August this year.
In addition, they concurred on continuing close communication between Japan-ROK defense authorities based on the outcomes of Japan-ROK Ministerial Meeting in June this year.
