From 24 September to 8 October, as part of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR) defense cooperation, JMOD/JGSDF invited 19 personnel from the Lao People’s Army to Japan.
At JGSDF Engineer School and Katsuta Field Training Area in Ibaraki Prefecture, classroom lessons and practical training related to the operation of heavy engineering equipment were conducted. The training focused on improving disaster response capabilities. This included techniques for road construction.
This project contributed to strengthening the bilateral defense relationship between Japan and Laos and further cooperation on regional peace and stability.
