On July 25, Defense Minister Hamada received a courtesy call from Admiral Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations, U.S. Navy. Defense Minister Hamada conveyed “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” to Admiral Gilday and offered his congratulations.
Defense Minister Hamada also showed his expectation that the Maritime Self Defense Force and the U.S. Navy closely cooperate and strive to strengthen Japan-U.S. Alliance as well as to realize Free and Open Indo-Pacific in light of the increasingly severe security environment.
