On May 15, Defense Minister Hamada received a courtesy call from General David H. Berger, Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps. They both confirmed that both sides will continue to deepen close ties between JSDF and the U.S. Marine Corps for strengthening the Japan-U.S. Alliance in the current severe and complex security environment.
