The JMOD and JSDF conducted the 5th Japan-ASEAN Invitation Program on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) with participants from ASEAN member states and the ASEAN Secretariat. The program was organized under the guiding principle for Japan-ASEAN defense cooperation known as the “Vientiane Vision 2.0”. Through seminars, a Table Top Exercise (TTX) and an observation of the Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park, the program contributed strengthening the disaster response capacity of the region with a focus on multinational coordination in the case of large-scale disasters.
