- On December 14, the 13th Japan-Canada Military to Military (MM) Dialogue was held in Ottawa, Canada.
- The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. MIURA Jun, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense, and the Canadian delegation was co-led by Major General Greg Smith, Director General for International Security Policy and Major General Paul Prevost, Director of Staff for the Strategic Joint Staff Department of National Defence.
- The Government of Canada launched “Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy” last month (November 27th) and the importance of the Japan-Canada cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region has been increased. The delegations exchanged views on a variety of issues, including regional affairs and defense policy of both nations, etc. and deepened the discussion on Japan-Canada defense cooperation and exchanges.
