From 16 to 20 December, as part of a cooperation project with Indonesia in the field of humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR), the JMOD/JSDF invited 10 personnel from the Ministry of Defence Indonesia (Kemhan)/Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to Japan. The personnel visited JMOD headquarters and were briefed on JMOD/JSDF’s disaster response efforts by JSDF personnel. They also exchanged opinions regarding international disaster relief activities with JMOD officials and JSDF personnel.
Additionally, the participants observed scenario-based international disaster relief activities exercise at JGSDF Eastern Army Camp Soumagahara where they gained insights and knowledge about how JGSDF responds in times of strikes of largescale natural disasters and deepened their understanding about JGSDF’s international disaster relief activities’ efforts.
