7 personnel from JMOD, JGSDF, and the JSDF Central Hospital

From 27 to 29 September, seven personnel from the JMOD, JGSF, and the JSDF Central Hospital visited the Central Military Hospital (CMH) of the Mongolian Armed Forces (MAF) as part of a defense cooperation project in the field of military medicine. The primary aim of the visit was to discuss a “Mass Casualties Response Exercise” (MCRE) that is being planned and will be conducted by the CMH. The personnel used the opportunity to exchange knowledge and to observe the present condition of the CMH.


The JSDF Central Hospital conducts a similar MCRE. This project will contribute to the establishment of such an exercise in Mongolia and is expected to enable the CMH MAF to independently develop its capabilities to handle disaster relief responses.



2022 marks the “50th anniversary of Japan – Mongolia diplomatic relations”. This in-country activity was one of its commemorative events, which contributed to strengthening the relationship between both countries.
