Japan-Philippines Vessel Maintenance Cooperation Project: Invitation (2022)

As part of a capacity building project with the Philippines, an invitational activity in the field of vessel maintenance has been implemented for Philippine Navy (PN) personnel. As the first activity in a three-year workplan, the PN personnel visited the JMSDF 2nd Service School, JMSDF Yokosuka Repair Supply Facility, and JS destroyers, and as part of a course about facility and vessel maintenance they also received briefings and exchanged opinions. Additionally, during this activity, as an element of Japan-Philippines-United States trilateral cooperation, the visiting delegation also toured a vessel maintenance facility in Yokosuka (Ship Repair Facility & Maintenance Center: SRF-JRMC). This project will contribute to upholding & enhancing FOIP by enabling the Philippine Navy expand its maritime operations.
