On March 9, Defense Minister Kishi received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. Korsunsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan.
Defense Minister Kishi informed that JASDF flight departed yesterday from Japan to provide supplies including body armors to support Ukraine. Ambassador expressed deep gratitude to Japan’s support.
Defense Minister Kishi also expressed his deepest condolences for Ukrainian soldiers fallen in the line of duty and the people who perished in war, as well as deep respect for the Ukrainian soldiers and people who are continuing the fight even now to protect their country and their families.
Japan absolutely opposes the Russian invasion of Ukraine which constitutes a serious violation of international law and the UN Charter, shaking the foundation of the international order.
