The Holding of the Japan-U.S. Security Consultative Committee (SCC)
１．Mr. KISHI Nobuo, Minister of Defense and Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs will hold the Japan-U.S. Security Consultative Committee (SCC) with the Honorable Lloyd Austin and the Honorable Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State of the United States of America, respectively, by video teleconference on January 7th a.m. , 2022 (Japan time).
２．The four ministers will discuss the security challenges facing the two countries. They will also discuss the future cooperation toward the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific," the strengthening of the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance, and the direction of their security and defense cooperation in the region.
