Japan-Cambodia Politico-Military (PM) Dialogue and Military to Military (MM) Dialogue
１．On December 22, the 6th Japan-Cambodia PM Dialogue and the 7th MM Dialogue were held via video teleconference.
２．The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. NOGUCHI Yasushi, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense and Mr. ISHIZUKI Hideo, Deputy Assistant Minister, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Cambodian delegation was led by MG SAM Sophea, Deputy Director of ASEAN Affairs Department, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia and H.E. Mr. NGOUN Sokveng, Director-General for Asia-Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia. They exchanged views on a variety of issues, including Japan-Cambodia security cooperation and regional situations.
３．Later in the day, MM Dialogue was also held. The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. NOGUCHI Yasushi, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense. The Cambodian delegation was led by LTG Suon Samnang, Deputy Director General, Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense. They discussed the way forward for Japan-Cambodia defense cooperation and exchanges and other relevant topics.
