On Nov 23, DM Kishi held a meeting with DM Giang of Viet Nam at the Ministry of Defense. This marked the third Japan-Vietnam Defese Ministers’ meeting between the pair, which clearly demonstrates the robust and close ties between Japan and Vietnam.
Under the “Japan-Vietnam Defense Cooperation at the New Level,” DM Kishi and DM Giang shared the view to further accelerate various collaborative efforts, including high level engagement and multilateral cooperation.
Following the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for the “Memorandum on Cybersecurity Cooperation” and the “Memorandum on Cooperation in the Field of Military Medicine” between Japan and Vietnam defense authorities in the presence of Defense Minister Kishi and Defense Minister Giang.

Vice-Minister of Defense for International Affairs Tsuchimichi and Deputy Minister of National Defence Sr. Lt. Gen. Chien visited JMU Yokohama and inspected the shipyard and “JS Ikazuchi.”

DM Kishi paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Chinh. They confirmed they will collaborate to jointly contribute to the peace and stability of the region and the international community to reinforce and develop Japan and Vietnam defense cooperation at the “New Level.”
