On October 19, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense, Iwamoto received a courtesy call from Rear Admiral Carl Lahti, who assumed the position of the Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Japan and welcomed his inauguration. They confirmed that JMSDF and U.S. Navy will continue to closely work together to further enhance the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
