On Sept 30, JMOD/SDF and Philippine Air Force (PAF) held an online Subject Matter Expert Exchange on Aviation Medicine and Aeromedical Evacuation for the first time.
In addition to scientific discussions, JASDF shared knowledge about a numbers of its teaching and training resources based on aviation medicine, and provided a lecture about patient transportation, all of which contributed to enhancing the safety of PAF airmen and their capacity to respond to disasters. PAF also provided similar presentations, which enhanced mutual understanding and will help to guide the development of later aspects of the project.
For Japan, Republic of the Philippines is an important strategic partner. While international travel remains restricted due to COVID-19, we continue to find ways to maintain and strengthen the defense cooperation with PAF such as by online means.
