From June 12 to 14, JMSDF landing ship JS Shimokita conducted a bilateral training with amphibious assault ship USS America, amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans and dock landing ship USS Germantown in the eastern waters of Okinawa.
The vessels simulated procedures such as embarking their LCACs to each other to improve interoperability in amphibious operations. MOD/JSDF will continue to conduct bilateral and multilateral exercises with U.S. Forces and demonstrate that the two countries are working together.
