The Cabinet today decided to extend the period of dispatching personnel to United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS ) for one year.
UNMISS supports is an example of Japan’s proactive contribution to world peace, supporting the progress of the peace process in South Sudan together with the international community.
It is also significant from the aspect of cooperating with the UN as well as the neighboring African countries, and securing opportunities for human resource development. Through the dispatch to UNMISS, JMOD/JSDF will continuously promote Proactive Contribution to Peace.
