On May 21, USSPACECOM General James Dickinson , visited the Ministry of Defense as his first overseas trip as the Commander of the United States Space Command, and gave a courtesy call on DM Kishi and had a meeting with General Yamazaki and also with General Izutsu .
During the meeting DM Kishi and USSPACECOM General Dickinson discussed topics such as space threats, the importance of securing the stable use of space, and bilateral defense cooperation including Space Situational Awareness (SSA).
They concurred to accelerate bilateral cooperation to further strengthen the Japan-U.S. alliance in the space domain.
