Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and UNPKO

• Led active discussion between PKO experts and member states, which shared activities and lessons learned (from Japan, Japan Peacekeeping Training and Research Center delivered the presentation), and achieved the objective of raising gender awareness among member states in a UNPKO context.
• Japan and Vietnam as co-chairs proposed the establishment of a WPS Platform under the PKO EWG in order to consolidate member states’ WPS-related experiences, which will be referred to during the planning for a Field Training Exercise in 2023. The proposal received consensus support among member states.
