On April 12, Defense Minister Kishi bestowed the order on behalf of the Emperor to ADM Phillip Davidson, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, who is going to leave the position shortly.
ADM Davidson received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for his great contribution to the defense of Japan during his tenure as Commander of INDOPACOM.
Defense Minister Kishi received a courtesy call from ADM Phillip Davidson, Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. He also expressed his appreciation for ADM Davidson’s efforts during his tenure to ensure the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region as well as to stregnthen the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
