On Mar 1, State Minister Nakayama visited Camp Omiya and was briefed on CBRN response of Central NBC Weapon Defense Unit based at the camp. He also received a report from JGSDF 1st Division personnel who engaged in disaster relief for the spread of bird flu in Jan 2020.
MOD/SDF responded to the spread of bird flu 28 times in 11 prefectures as disaster relief operations. MOD/SDF will continue to closely cooperate with related local governments as well as ministries and agencies to rapidly and properly conduct disaster relief activities.
