On March 19, Defense Minister Kishi attended the commission ceremony for the new destroyer Haguro, which is to be deployed at the 8th Escort Division, and instructed to the crew.
JS Haguro equips SM-3 Block ⅡA, Japan-U.S. joint developed intercept missile and CEC capability, which realized higher air-defense capability than conventional destroyer. She is expected to strengthen the Comprehensive Air and Missile Defense.
