On March 18, the 2th Air Wing of the JASDF held a bilateral exercise with U.S. Forces including F-16B from U.S. Air force in the airspace of the eastward offshore of Misawa. This exercise aimed at enhancing the deterrence and response capability of Japan-U.S. alliance.
The MOD/JSDF put importance on acquiring the capabilities for both the JSDF and the U.S. Forces through the exercise to enhance the deterrence and response capabilities. The JSDF and U.S.Forces will continue to conduct bilateral exercises and demonstrate the posture of bilateral cooperation.
