Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsukawa visited National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS)

On March 22, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Matsukawa visited National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) and saw its offices, reading room and library. She was also briefed about the research conducted by NIDS.
NIDS is the Ministry of Defense’s core policy research arm, conducting research and studies primarily on security and military history, while also serving as a strategic college-level educational institution for the training of high-level officers of the SDF.
In addition, NIDS administrates the archives of military documents bofore the the Second World war for the bublic use, and is considered to be the nation’s foremost military history research center.
