On March 22, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Onishi visited JASDF Fuchu Air Base and met with the Commanders of Air Support Command, Air Development and Test Command. He was briefed on Space Operations Squadron and Central Weather Squadron.
Central Weather Squadron takes core part of the weather-related duty including consolidating, analyzing and offering information to related SDF units. They also share information and cooperate with Ground and Maritime Self-Defense Forces and centrally provide weather information during disaster internal and international disaster relief operations.
