On Feb 26, Commanding Officer Takeuchi of JMSDF Icebraker Shirase reported to Minister Kishi about the return of the ship from Antarctica. Minister Kishi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the crew who supported the Antarctic observation even under harsh environment.
The Shirase successfully completed cooperation for the 62nd Antarctic observations, and it came back to Japan on Feb 22.
