JS Suzunami, the 4th Deployment Surface Force for Information Gathering, has started operations in place of JS Murasame. JS Suzunami and its crew members are gathering information to ensure the safety of Japan-related vessels in high waters including the Gulf of Oman.
JS Suzunami departed from Ominato on Dec 20, 2020. All of its members got PCR tests, conducted 14-day exercise around Japan, and received health monitoring before advancing to the activity area. MOD/JSDF will continue to work hard with taking every possible measure against COVID-19.
