On Jan 13, Defense Minister Kishi visited Camp Narashino to observe New Year’s Jump 2021 conducted by the 1st Airborne Brigade. During the event, Approximately 400 JGSDF members jumped from helicopters and cargo aircrafts with the appropriate preventive measures for COVID19.
The 1st Airborne Brigade is the only SDF’s airborne brigade which is capable to land with parachutes called “airborne operations”. With its air mobility, the Brigade plays a significant roles not only in response to various situations of aggression but also in disaster relief.
