From Jan 14 to 28, JMSDF joined the Multilateral Anti-Submarine Exercise (SEA DRAGON 2021) in sea and airspace around Guam. Two P-1 aircrafts took part in the exercise with the U.S. Navy, the Royal Australian Airforce, Canadian Air Force and Indian Navy.
JMSDF engages in the warning and surveillance mission with patrol aircrafts, such as P-1, and shares information with foreign forces for some cases. Exercises with foreign navies contribute to strengthening cooperation and mutual understandings.
