SS “Soryu” Class is the largest diesel submarine in the world. She silently cruises underwater and is engaged in anti-submarine warning and surveillance to ensure the safety of seas around Japan.
The stern rudder of SS “Soryu” Class is X shaped though former class had been cruciform, which enable her to move smoother and to reduce damage to her rudder. Submarine of JMSDF is just evolving “stronger, longer and more quiet”.
