On Monday, January 13, Defense Minister Kono visited the U.S. Pacific Missile Range Test Facility (PMRF) during his visit to Hawaii. He also visited the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and exchanged views with Adm. John Davidson, Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

Visit to Washington D.C. by Defense Minister Kono

During his visit to Washington D.C. from Tuesday, January 14, Defense Minister Kono gave a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper at the U.S. Department of Defense. He also exchanged views with U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien and other experts.
