in Japanese

Overview

The MFO is an international organization which has carried out peacekeeping activities in place of the United Nations on the basis of the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty (1979) and its Protocol (1981) since 1982. Facilitating the promotion of dialogues and confidence building between Egypt and Israel through the ceasefire monitoring, the MFO has contributed to the peace and stability in the Middle East, a foundation of peace and prosperity for Japan. In response to the requests from the MFO, Japan decided to dispatch 2 personnel of the Japan Self-Defense Forces to its Headquarters as staff officers in order to contribute to the MFO's efforts toward the regional and international peace and stability.
