Japan Self-Defense Forces Engagement in response to COVID-19 updated
This document compiles lessons learned from JSDF’s engagements in response to COVID-19 including activities on the cruise ship Diamond Princess, and measures taken at the airport and to prevent community spread of the virus, and analysis of cases examined at the SDF Central Hospital.
The document is available both in Japanese and English and has been widely shared with countries which Japan has a relation with their respective defense authorities. It is also referred to in the ministerial telephone meeting with various countries.
As the importance of internationally sharing lessons learned in relation to infection preventative measures is emphasized, MOD/SDF will continue to promote information sharing with other countries and strive to prevent the spread of the virus.
