JMOD/SDF has been working on strengthening cooperation in the space field with like-minded countries.  We have completed the procedures to join the Combined Space Operations (CSpO) Initiative as a participant. The CSpO Initiative is a multinational framework among like-minded countries to generate and improve cooperation, coordination, and interoperability opportunities to sustain freedom of action in space, optimize resources, enhance mission assurance and resilience, and prevent conflict.

This initiative is the venue where we can discuss agenda such as necessary operations, architectures, and legal issues for space security.  It started in 2014 with the U.S., U.K., Australia, and Canada aiming at strong cooperation for SDA followed by New Zealand joining in 2015, Germany in 2019, and France in 2020.  Our government stipulated to pursue participation in CSpO in Space Security Initiative (2023 The Space Development Strategy Headquarters, Japan).

JMOD/SDF would like to strengthen cooperative relationships in the space field much further with like-minded countries through the CSpO Initiative.
