1. Based on the Three Principles on Transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology, Japan Ministry of Defense has carried forward with the transfer of defense equipment and technology in the joint public and private efforts.
   
2. In this context, the first air surveillance radar system has been delivered to the Philippine Air Force as the first transfer case of finished equipment, under the contract signed in 2020 between Department of National Defense of the Republic of the Philippines and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation to supply air surveillance radar systems. Japan will continue to work on the remaining units for future delivery.
3. For Japan, the Philippines is a strategic partner sharing basic values, and to enhance cooperation in defense equipment and technology with the Philippines is important for ensuring peace and stability in Japan and the region. Japan Ministry of Defense will continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Philippines.
