- The Statement of Intent on Defense Cooperation and Exchanges was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Japan and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kenya.

* The signed document was exchanged between State Minister Makoto Oniki and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi during the Document Exchange Ceremony held in Tokyo on February 8, 2024, in the presence of the two leaders of both countries. - Japan Ministry of Defense will further strengthen the defense cooperation and exchanges with Kenya as an important partner for promoting Free and Open Indo-pacific through Military-to-Military Dialogue, which was newly established last January, and contribute together to uphold and reinforce the free and open international order based on the rule of law.
