　On October 19th, 2023, Vice Minister of Defense for International Affairs Serizawa, held a signing ceremony of Memorandum and meeting with Deputy Minister of National Defence of Lithuania, Greta Monika Tučkutė. The overview is as follows.

1. Vice Minister Serizawa and Deputy Minister Tučkutė welcomed the signing of the Japan-Lithuania Memorandum on Defense Cooperation and Exchanges.
2. At the following meeting, they shared the view to further strengthen the defense cooperation and exchanges under the Memorandum.
3. Japan will further strengthen the defense cooperation and exchanges with Lithuania as a “strategic partner”, and contribute together to uphold and reinforce the free and open international order based on the rule of law.
