- On February 21, Japan-China Military to Military (MM) Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan. The Ministry of Defense exchanged opinions with the Chinese side on a wide range of topics including regional affairs and Japan-China defense exchanges.
- The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. ANDO Atsushi, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense. The Chinese delegation was led by Major General Zhang Baoqun, Deputy Director, Office for International Military Cooperation (OIMC), CMC.
- The Ministry of Defense conducted a candid exchange of opinions with the Chinese side regarding various issues pertaining to regional affairs, and the Japanese side conveyed Japan’s position appropriately.
- Both sides concurred to continue cooperation towards achieving the operational status of “Hotline between Japanese and Chinese Defense Authorities” around Spring this year, while also discussing future Japan-China defense cooperation and exchanges.
