From Feb 4 to 7, JMSDF JS Kongo and P-3C conducted tactical training such as encounter and anti-sea exercises with U.S. carrier strike group led by USS Abraham Lincoln and vessels including USS America and USS Essex in the waters and airspace around Okinawa to bolster Japan-U.S. Alliance capabilities to deter and respond.
Two CH-47 from JGSDF 1st Helicopter Brigade in Kisarazu also joined this exercise, and conducted take off and landing training on U.S.Navy vessel USS America. Through this training, JGSDF and JMSDF improved tactical skills and interoperability with U.S.Navy !
