On September 9, Defense Minister Kishi received courtesy call from Lt Gen Rupp,Commander of United States Forces Japan and Fifth Air Force who was newly assigned to the position. Defense Minister Kishi welcomed Lt Gen Rupp on his assignment as a commander and confirmed that both sides work closely to strengthen the Japan-U.S. Alliance.
