The JMOD/JSDF have cooperated with the Central Military Hospital of Mongolia Armed Forces in the field of military medicine since 2012.
The JSDF Central Hospital conducts a “Mass Casualties Response Exercise” in order to enhance the hospital’s response posture for mass casualties incidents. This seminar was held as part of a program to arrange and conduct a similar exercise in Mongolia.
In the seminar, participants from the JSDF Central Hospital provided an overview of their organization and introduced the “Mass Casualties Response Exercise”, and staff from the Medical Service School of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force also gave a brief about the school. In addition, professors from the National Defense Medical College shared knowledge regarding COVID-19 infection counter measures.
The participants from the Mongolian Armed Forces introduced the roles and responsibilities of the Mongolian Armed Forces Central Hospital and gave a presentation on lessons learned about COVID-19 prevention. Through the seminar, we deepened mutual understanding about initiatives in the field of military medicine between Japan and Mongolia, and further enhanced our partnership.
