On June 7, State Minister Nakayama received a courtesy call from Admiral Samuel Paparo, who assumed the position of the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet. They confirmed that JMSDF and U.S. Navy will continue to closely work together to further enhance the Japan-U.S. Alliance and to maintain and strengthen the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”
