In the evening of March 25 (JST), Mr. OKA Masami, Director General, Bureau of Defense Policy,vexchanged views over the phone with Mr. David Helvey, Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs following the latest launch of the ballistic missiles by North Korea.
They shared understanding that the latest launch of the ballistic missiles poses threats to its neighbors, including Japan, and the international community. Also, they affirmed the importance of trilateral cooperation with the Republic of Korea and agreed that initiatives taken by countries including Japan and the U.S. are indispensable to ensure implementation of the U.N. Security Council Resolutions.
