About Air Self-Defense Force
The only organization protecting Japan's airspace
In Japan, there is no "air police force" corresponding to the police on land and the Japan Coast Guard at sea. Therefore, the JASDF is the only organization with responsibility for the peace and security of Japan's airspace, both in terms of peacetime and in contingencies.
Units That Make Up Japan's Air Defense Force
The JASDF units is comprised of fighter aircraft units, air warning and control units, surface-to-air guided missile units, aerial refueling and transport units, air transport units, and air rescue units.
