OUR ROLES
Defending Japan's peace from the skies,Japan-U.S. Alliance
Strengthening Japan-U.S. cooperation and demonstrating the two countries' bond through the implementation of this exercise will be effective in further enhancing the deterrence and response capabilities of the Japan-U.S. Alliance as a whole and displaying Japan's will and high capability to ensure regional stability. To ensure the effectiveness of the Japan-U.S. alliance, JASDF is developing stronger and closer ties with the U.S. Air Force. For example, the Headquarters of the Air Defense Command and U.S. 5th Air Force in Japan are both located at Yokota Air Base, which gives them an opportunity to respond in cooperation if the situation demands.
