Dispatch of instructor to KAIPTC in Ghana

From November 15 to 20, 2011, Director of the Japan Peacekeeping Training and Research Center (JPC), Col. Katsunobu Ishibashi was dispatched to the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Accra, Ghana as an instructor of the Crisis Information Management Course targeted at 20 military and police officers and civilians from African countries.
@Col. Ishibashi gave a lecture about lessons in communications and information sharing learned from our countryfs international disaster relief activities, followed by Q&Afs.
@Col. Ishibashi said, gThey asked me a lot of high-level questions in terms of information management, and we had constructive discussionsh, gI was surprised that students were highly interested in our response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and that some already had considerable knowledge about that of the Japanese government and othersh, adding gI am grateful to the staff of the local peacekeeping center for warmly welcoming me. Being told by them that my lecture was meaningful, I think that I could contribute to the training course and also let the students know Japanfs international peace cooperation activities.h
@Since 2008, a total of eight SDF personnel have been dispatched to peacekeeping centers in African countries as instructors, and Ghana is the 3rd country following Egypt and Mali.
