JS OUMI conducted Interchangeable Logistics Exercise 23-1 with USS ANTIETAM

On January 26, JS OUMI conducted Interchangeable Logistics Exercise 23-1 (ILEX 23-1) in the vicinity of Okinawa with USS ANTIETAM.
This bilateral exercise was carried out to maintain and improve the interoperability of U.S. and Japanese naval forces to conduct replenishments at sea. Japanese and U.S. naval forces are conducting logistics operations more effectively and efficiently in support of front line units.
The Self-Defense Fleet maintains readiness and contributes to the peace and stability of Japan and the Indo-Pacific region, in supporting of deterrence and the strong Japan-U.S. Alliance.
